THE LAKE SAVER
Developed by Pat Dixon | Portage, Wisconsin
This new revolutionary device is designed to greatly reduce the petroleum based fine particulates and granules of roof top asphalt shingles from being deposited in your lawn or yard after heavy rain fall. The lake saver will also capture and reduce these fine particles from entering our precious waterways. The lake saver captures and contains most organic particles, like acorns, plant seeds, sticks and leaves.
The lake saver is easy to install. This device is designed to be installed on the end of your rain gutter downspout pipe. It can also be attached to drain tile of different diameters. The drain tile or gutter downspout can be smooth or corrugated. The lake saver can be installed on stormwater outlet pipes that enter directly into our waterways.
Because of its unique design and ability to retain these types of particles, this product has received temporary approval, to be installed on the rain gutter downspouts of a high-profile condominium located on Lake Wisconsin in Sauk County.
Once the sediment bags are installed, they are checked visually after heavy rainfall, to ensure they are in place. The sediment bags are removed and emptied after being in place for six months, or if the riparian feels the sediment bag needs cleaning.
The lake saver debris/ sediment bag is a great step forward for greatly reducing some petroleum-based particles and organic material from entering our waterways. The lake saver stops and reduces the particles from entering the surface waters and soil.
The lake saver is a great step forward in one of many solutions to reducing and preventing poor water quality.
It is recommended that the lake saver sediment debris bag be installed on any residential or commercial stormwater outlet drain within one hundred twenty-five feet of any waterway.
The lake saver can greatly improve water quality for many years.
